If you got hurt early in your season, it’s possible you could use a hardship waivers. Hardship waivers are meant to provide an additional season of competition for students who missed out on a substantial portion of their season due to injury.
Things to keep in mind when applying for a hardship waiver:
- Your injury must have been “season ending.” Meaning medical professionals told your coaches you could no longer play.
- The injury took place in the first half of your season.
- You only played in three games or three dates of competition (or 30% of your
season).*
*See your compliance office to help verify your amount of competition.
To obtain any NCAA waiver, your school must apply for it on your behalf. Talk to compliance if this could apply to you.
